I know it may just be an of-the-moment thing, but I would really like a candy buffet at my wedding. I love my sweets and they can be arranged in a cute and pretty manner so how can I not? Are you planning a candy buffet for your party?

I just had to give this post 5 stars! Candy buffets are not only visually pleasing but can double as favors for the guests. Also, depending on which candies you use, it can be cost-effective. I can’t wait to start planning mine.
I think the idea of a candy buffet is good. For one thing, it’ll be an excellent way to bring in the colors of your wedding without being overly decorative. Candy buffets with a nice take-away box might also work as a good wedding favor. I wouldn’t go so far as to order m&m’s with the bride’s and groom’s initials on them, but something done tastefully with good candy and a subtle knod towards the theme of the reception would lend this “new” idea a “classic” look.
hey you!
once again, congrats on you and tim getting engaged! whoohoo! i just remembered tim referring me to this website and i love it! i’m currently coordinating two weddings right now, so i’ve been doing a lot of research too and can’t stop!
i think your candy buffet idea is a GREAT idea, but here are some things to keep in mind:
- those apothecary jars that they show in the pictures are pretty expensive, and there seems to be no place for them after your wedding. so if you can, try to borrow a bunch of jars from friends if you can. i also found some at marshall’s and ross stores.
- http://www.ohnuts.com has the cheapest jelly beans by the pound, i believe.
- another cost-cutting idea is dipping pretzels and cookies in colored chocolate yourself instead of buying them at specialty stores. all you need is a white chocolate and food coloring!
take care!
